Key features of NLE | PMC announced the NLE guidelines and Syllabus

Big News | PMC announced the NLE guidelines and Syllabus

Some Key features about NLE:

It will be conducted at least 4 times a year.

The NLE will consist of:
(i) a theory component and
(ii) a skill-based, clinical component –
Clinical Skills Examination (CSE)

 Clinical Skills Examination (CSE):
There will be total 20 stations (to check your Clinical skills just like in Usmle) there will be three stations defined as mandatory stations in CSE. Failure in any one or more of the mandatory stations will constitute a failure in the entire CSE. The three mandatory stations will be from (one from each) the following disciplines:
• Medicine and allied
• Surgery and allied
• Obstetrics and Gynaecology or Paediatrics

You have to pass both exam with 70%.

Candidates who pass the theory (MCQs) component but fail the CSE will have to re-appear in the CSE component only
Such candidates will re-register for the CSE only.

If a candidate fails in 3 consecutive attempts of the CSE, she/he will have to appear in both the
theory (MCQs) and CSE components on the fourth attempt.
That is, after every three failed attempts at the CSE, candidates will have to sit the entire NLE.
